Intersec 2025, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 21st 2025 – Western Digital, a leader in hard disk drives (HDDs), demonstrated powerful solutions for enterprise-class surveillance systems, hyperscalers, and cloud providers at this year’s Intersec. With modern cameras and AI-enabled recording systems that send multiple streams of high-definition video, picture files and metadata to storage, the manufacturer showed how its latest product and technology innovations are raising the bar for capacity, performance and efficiency.
“As one of the industry leaders in data storage solutions, we were proud to demonstrate that HDDs offer more than just storage”, Mohammed Owais, Sales Director, Middle East at Western Digital says: “As an important event for Western Digital, Intersec 2025 gave us the opportunity to demonstrate how our products enable businesses that are looking to optimize their IT infrastructure, lower TCO, and future-proof data strategies. Thanks to interactive displays and Augmented Reality (AR), we gave our guests hands-on experiences of our HDDs and our proprietary technologies like ArcticFlow™ and IsoVibe™.”
WD Purple Pro 26TB CMR HDD: During the event, Western Digital not only celebrated ten years of WD Purple, but gave an exclusive regional preview of the upcoming WD Purple Pro 26TB1. Specifically designed for video surveillance and security systems, this latest generation of purpose-built enterprise-class drives delivers unbeaten CMR capacity for video analytic servers, AI, and deep learning systems.
Ultrastar® DC HC690 Data Center SMR HDD: Western Digital also featured its recently launched Ultrastar DC HC690 . With up to 32TB1, the world’s first 11-disk HDD supports customer goals for cost-effective deep content storage at scale. Thanks to continuous innovation, the manufacturer can deliver this superior storage capacity while maintaining the same physical footprint, lowering power consumption and reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO).
Ultrastar Data60 Hybrid Storage Platform: Additionally, Western Digital showcased the Ultrastar Data60 Hybrid Storage JBOD Platform, which offers a raw storage capacity of up to 1.56PB1. The platform was designed for next-generation disaggregated storage and software-defined storage (SDS) infrastructure. At its booth, Western Digital displayed a JBOD demo with a live connection to a UK lab that demonstrated real time deployment of the solution.
